A Basket full of Questions:
Digital Content and Copyrigh

Digitalisation moves forward everywhere. Audio, Video, Images, Text – all content can be distributed via stationary and portable end devices all over the globe. While this gives end users more opportunities and freedoms, it is also a fundamental challenge for the existing copyright system. How intellectual property can be legally protected in a way, that innovation and investment can flourish in the digital world? And how Internet Service Providers and individual Internet users have to re-arrange their relationships? The new draft of the German Copyright Law (Basket II), further developed DRM systems, European legislation and WIPO Treaties are creating a new environment which has to be in line with the recommendations of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).
