Michael Krüger
, Carl-Hanser Verlags, Munich,
reports on his meetings with Elias Canetti and his work

Hilmar Thate, Berlin, reads texts of Elias Canetti.

The three volumes of Canettis Autobiography belong to the great memory literature of the world, but cover only parts of Elias Canettis life. Canetti was full of energy when he was reading, writing and discussing with friends or enemies. But he always remained he himself and did not follow the main stream of the literature of the 20th century. Michael Krüger reports about Canettis special way of life as a Jewish emigrant in Bulgaria , Vienna , Berlin , London and Zurich .
